NVQs are vocational, work-based qualifications and the focus is on performing
practical tasks to a high standard. There are no external examinations, but
students are assessed throughout the course through the production of a
portfolio of evidence which forms the basis of their assessment and in some
cases, short internal examinations.
Students work towards an NVQ at either Level 1 (equivalent to gaining a GCSE at Grades
D-G), or a Level 2 (equivalent to gaining a GCSE at grades A*-C).
We work in partnership with Easton College, Norfolk Training Services (NTS)
and Norwich City College to deliver a range of NVQs at differing levels.
Students applying for these courses will need to consider the types of course available
to them and their TMGs/ELPs when selecting the level of course they apply for. Not all
courses are available at Level 2 and as such it would be unsuitable for a student with
TMGs/ELPs of A*-C to select a Level 1 course. These levels and your attitude grades will
be carefully considered during your school interview.
There is only a limited number of places to be offered. Level 1 courses will be given
priority.
