The University of East Anglia's Careers website states knowing your skills and personal qualities is the basis of good career choice, planning and job application techniques.

What are skills and personal qualities? How can someone demonstrate these?

skill n. 1. special ability in a sport, computing, etc., esp. ability acquired by training. 2. something, esp. a trade or technique, requiring special training or manual proficiency. [C12: ‹ Old Norse skil distinction] quality n., pl. -ties 1. a distinguishing characteristic or attribute. 2. the basic character or nature of something or someone. 3. a feature of personality. 4. degree or standard of excellence, esp. a high standard.
